“It is so refreshing to find a place where the Barman knows everything about his stock and can give accurate and detailed information about what they have on offer. Great service!”

~ Ingrid Wulf, Facebook

“Great bar in Manly that’s a step in the right direction to the kind of places that need to open in the area.

The food in this venue is delicious and the bar manager is extremely professional, friendly and helpful.  There are great beers available on tap and while more variety in that department would be nice I understand it’s not always possible with a venue of this size.

It’s a really pleasant environment both inside and outside the bar and I would encourage anyone to go give the place a try.

“Keep up the good work guys.”

~ Dan Wright, Google Reviews

“Since it has been renovated it has such a great feel to it.
The staff are awesome people and the service is bang on.
The cocktails are amazing! These guys know what they are doing. Great value too with a selection at $10 between 5-7 and most are $16 any time.
Great burgers too if you are hungry!”

Manly House Rentals Fastest-Rising In Brisbane For 2018

Rentals for detached houses in Manly was the fastest-rising rate in Brisbane for 2018, latest report says.

Data from the Domain Rental Report for December quarter 2018 showed Manly’s record increase of 14.5 per cent on year-to-year, with a median weekly rent price of $493. Ascot and South Brisbane closely followed the ranking with 14.2 per cent and 13.7 per cent year-to-year, respectively.

According to homesales.com.au, the average rental returns for detached houses for Manly is at 3.44 per cent on year-to-year. Rental units, on the other hand, have a 4.78 per cent return with a median weekly rental price of $430.

Domain’s senior analyst  Nicola Powell attributed Manly’s rental increase to its appeal for families looking to migrate from NSW, specifically Sydney, to suburbs with access to good schools for their children.

Other top performing suburbs for the fastest-rising detached house rentals include Nudgee, Tarragindi, Fairfield, Petrie Terrace, Dakabin, Banyo and East Brisbane. With rental units, Holland Park, Clontarf, Bandon, South Brisbane and Balmoral ranked among the top five.

The news comes as forecast from the Residential Property Prospects 2018-2021 report for Brisbane’s general housing market sees a modest but steady growth until 2021, while Sydney’s declines.

However, rentals in Brisbane’s inner cities continue to weaken despite the developments. Brisbane CBD’s rental units, a 35-minute drive from Manly, fell to 4 per cent year-on-year with a $480 median weekly rental price. Analysts say there is more supply than demand coming into the CBD market.

Manly, Other Seaside Suburbs to Trial Off-Leash Beaches

This could be good news for fur-parents as Brisbane City Council prepares to trial a number of off-leash beaches in Manly, Wynnym, and other seaside suburbs across Brisbane.

Come mid-2019, a number of beaches and foreshores will be designated as off-leash areas for a year.

Currently, there are a number of off-leash beaches where Brisbane dogs can go. Some of the best beaches for pooches include the North Shore off-leash beach in the Sunshine Coast, Coolum Beach and Nudgee Beach.

Under the council’s plan, selected beaches and foreshores in Manly, Wynnum, Lota, Sandgate, Nudgee Beach, Shorncliffe, and Brighton will allow dogs, small and big, to run free within a designated area. However, dog owners will be warned that they can be fined if they unleash their pets outside the off-leash area.

Striking a Balance

The off-leash beaches trial is in response to public clamour for more freedom for their fur babies. But a possible hindrance to making beaches off-leash are the birds that treat the beaches as their temporary home.

The council plans to conduct the trial during the non-migratory period. That way, they can strike a balance in providing freedom areas for dogs, whilst still protecting the birds.

Should the trial be successful, it could lead to more off-leash beaches and foreshores in Queensland.
