USC Moreton Bay: Australia’s Newest University Campus in Moreton Bay to Open in 2020

Construction of Stage One of USC Moreton Bay, Australia’s newest university campus, located at the heart of Moreton Bay is well underway.

The new University of the Sunshine Coast campus is set to cater for up to 10,000 students in its first 10 years and will be the anchor of The Mill at Moreton Bay Priority Development Area. USC Moreton Bay will be built on a 10.5-hectare land on the former Petrie Paper Mill site.

Hansen Yuncken is undertaking the construction works of Stage One of the USC Moreton Bay foundation. The foundation facility will include a 400-seat lecture theatre for teaching and community events; a  $10 million worth state-of-the-art technology, including simulation facilities, engineering facilities, and a makerspace; and a core commitment to renewable energy.

The USC Moreton Bay campus is accessible from Old Gympie road, the Petrie Station, and the Petrie to Kippa-Ring Share path.



Study Opportunities at USC Moreton Bay

Beginning February 2020, USC Moreton Bay will offer almost 50 undergraduate degree programs including business, education, and computer science. Several new courses will be offered in 2020 as well such as Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical), and Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronic).

Sixteen additional programs will also be introduced in 2021 and 2022 such as Bachelor of Business (International Business), Bachelor of Design (Game Design), Bachelor of Environmental Management, and Bachelor of Nutrition.

For students who want to apply for undergraduate study from Semester 1, 2020, application will open in August 2019 through QTAC.

Meet USC Moreton Bay

A series of “Meet USC MoretonBay” events are scheduled beginning 23 May 2019, to give a chance to students and the local community to learn more about the project and study opportunities that will be available beginning 2020.

Scheduled to attend and answer questions during panel discussion are USC Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Hill, USC Chief Operating Officer Scott Snyder, USC Pro-Vice Chancellor (Engagement) Professor Joanne Scott and Moreton Bay Mayor Allan Sutherland.
